Meet popular YA author, Mindy McGinnis, and hear about her latest book and writing process.
Meet Mindy McGinnis, award-winning author of many popular YA books including Heroine, Be Not Far From Me, and The Last Laugh. Mindy will talk about the inspiration and research for her latest book, Under this Red Rock, a murder mystery set in the cavern systems of Ohio that explores themes of mental illness, examining the often misunderstood behavior patterns of those who struggle. She will also discuss the importance of speaking out about mental health and share some of her own experiences with depression and anxiety as well as how they informed her process while working on this book. There will be time for Q&A, so bring any questions you have. Mindy will also have copies of her books available to sign and sell (cash, credit, and app accepted). Attendees will be entered into a drawing to win one of Mindy’s books! For teens and adults. Registration required.
